NYTimes Digital Subscriptions start March 28

NYTimes.com is launching their Digital Subscription service at the end March which gives users unlimited access to articles on the Web site, on the mobile site and on smartphone and tablet apps.

There are 3 Access tiers:

  • NYTimes.com + Smartphone (iPhone) $15 every 4 weeks
  • NYTimes.com + Tablet (iPad) $20 every 4 weeks
  • All Digital Access $35 every four weeks

All Digital Access gives users access to NYTimes.com from any device, iPhone, Android, iPad and Times Reader 2.0.

NYTimes.com crossword lovers will still need to shell out another $6.95 a month. Digital subscriptions don’t include Premium Crosswords or The New York Times Crosswords.

If you’re a casual visitor, you can view 20 articles each month at no charge.  The NYTimes.com home page and all section fronts will remain free to browse.

In today’s press release, Arthur Sulzberger, Publisher of the New York  Times, writes, “It’s an important step that we hope you will see as an investment in The Times, one that will strengthen our ability to provide high-quality journalism to readers around the world and on any platform.”

Drop me a note if you’re planning on paying for a Digital Subscription.
